Japanese katana sword
Katanas were one of the traditional made Japanese swords used by the samurai of ancient and feudal Japan. The Katana is a curved single-edged blade with a circular or square guard and they have a long griped handle long enough for two hands.
"Katana" is a term now used to describe a group of Japanese sword know as nihonto that are 606mm long or longer.
Kun'yomi is the Japanese reading of Katana in kanji, originally meaning dao or saber in Chinese. In Portuguese it is spelled catana which means Larges knife or machete.
Katana's can be taken apart. There are more than 17 parts.
